The Den Osse Nieuwe Kerkweg is one of the Grevelingenmeer's busiest dive sites. Its popularity is due to the good facilities and the wide diversity of underwater life. There is plenty of life among the reef balls, numbering around one hundred, concrete plates and soft sandy bottom. The flora and fauna include lobsters, pouting, ascidians, crabs and mud sagartias. Occasional dahlia anemones are seen here too.
The competition zone lies to the west of the pontoon at the dive site and stretches from dike marker #13 to the red buoy #G66. Diving at the pontoon and the reef balls is prohibited during the competition. Dives during the competition will be done from a boat.
