Competition Zone Preekhil (21) - Grevelingenmeer

A wonderful, quiet and undisturbed part of the Grevelingenmeer. It is a bit of a long walk from the parking place at Preekhilpolder, but is definitely worth the effort. This is the only dive site on the north shore of the Grevelingenmeer in the province of South Holland. A green buoy lies close to the entry point to the water. This green buoy denotes the navigation waterway. You can dive to the left or the right of the buoy, but be careful to stay out of the navigation waterway itself.

This is a quiet dive site with clear water and little current. This ensures extensive growth. Large numbers of plumose anemones, transparent ascidians, crab and common starfish can be found here. In spring, shaggy mouse nudibranchs can be seen laying eggs.

The competition zone is the area around the spit in the nature park. Take care that you dive in the shallower areas up to the green buoy #SP29. Dives during the competition will be done from a boat.

The entry into the water can be unsafe! The entry may become slippery in wet weather or if used by many divers.
